December 2019, NJR assisted in developing and executing an onsite audit of a client’s listed Oil Spill Removal Organization (OSRO). Key elements of the audit were an escorted site and equipment inspection along with a discussion of day-to-day operations. A questionnaire developed, following standard industry practices, focused on general information (e.g. site contact details, contract number, over land and over water transit times to the client’s operations, etc.), Response Skills & Training, Logistics & Equipment Readiness, and Safety (this site and company-wide). The audit covered backfill and cascade processes for personnel and equipment, and a detailed discussion of the OSRO’s safety and site management processes.
