The exercise was based on the loss of well control for a condensate well off the coast of Tobago. NJR designed and facilitated the exercise to grow the response capability of a new venture team in-country. The exercise focused on the Reactive Phase of the Incident Command System (ICS) planning cycle – a critical time for the IMT to launch and stabilize its management of an event. Primary and secondary capping stacks were activated, and the Source Control Branch worked out the logistics for mobilizing the stacks to Trinidad. The exercise included over 100 participants, primarily from Trinidad & Tobago with energy and environmental ministries observing.
