NJ Resources, Inc. conducted Qualified Individual (QI) Refresher Training and an annual Table Top Exercise for Crowley Marine Services – Valdez, AK operations in August. This year the training updated the designated Qualified Individuals on their plan revisions with emphasis on the changes presented in the 2016 National Preparedness for Response Exercise Program (PREP). Following the Vessel Response Plan, the local response team quickly assembled and organized themselves into an effective team allocating personnel appropriately to address the scripted scenario. Following the Incident Command System process, NJR led the team through a comprehensive Initial Briefing Package that included their current and projected response actions, effective resource management, initial site safety package – medical plan and communications plan and was fully prepared to conduct a transition briefing.
