NJ Resources, Inc. (NJR) developed and facilitated a Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response – Refresher / Technician Training and Practical Exercise Program for a Pipeline Gas Transmission Operator. This company-specific program followed OSHA’s protocols for Hazardous Materials Annual Refresher & Technician Level Training with an additional focus on the Supervisor Role. Specific requirements of the company policies and procedures, as applied to emergency response, were emphasized. Training included classroom lecture, team-led activities, and a supervised practical exercise demonstrating the requisite skills under OSHA and company policy.
Successful participation and completion of the exercise was logged using the Performance Qualification Standard (PQS) process developed by NJR to document attendees understood the procedure and could safely and competently perform the correct tasks in the proper order. All successful attendees received a certificate of completion document and an annual renewal date.
