NJ Resources, Inc. (NJR) conducted a two-day crisis management and communications workshop, giving designated company leadership the opportunity to exercise their program through presentations, reinforcing activities, and a team exercise. Scenario-based activities emphasized the leadership roles and responsibilities during a crisis response.
The workshop focused on the interface, interactions, and communications between the Crisis Management Team (CMT) and the Incident Management Team (IMT). Additionally, the workshop taught leadership how to manage internal and external communications during a crisis, including stakeholder and investor relations, negative outcomes and outside impacts that may affect the organization’s reputation.
Based on participant feedback and facilitator observations, the team captured lessons learned and opportunities for future improvement of the current plan.
