NJ Resources, Inc. (NJR) developed and facilitated a Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response – Site Worker Training and Practical Exercise Program for a Gas Transmission Pipeline Operator.  This company-specific program followed OSHA’s protocols for Hazardous Materials Technician Level, plus the additional, specific requirements of the company and Regulations for managing suspected Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCB) contaminated parts. Training included classroom lecture, team-led activities, as well as supervised practical exercises that provided hands-on experience with the preventive maintenance, recordkeeping, storage, and manifesting required by regulation and company policy.

All successful participation and completion of exercises was logged using the Performance Qualification Standard (PQS) process developed by NJR to document that attendees understood the procedure and could safely and competently perform the correct tasks in the proper order.
